Haven’t Ridden the Gatlinburg Roller Coaster Yet? Hop On!

There are a ton of things to do in Gatlinburg in the fall: attractions and amusement parks, entertainment, concerts, shopping, dining, hiking, fishing…even a fall festival or two. The list goes on and on. But one thing you definitely want on the list is a ride on the Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster. Haven’t ridden this Gatlinburg roller coaster yet? Well, what are you waiting for? Hop on!

A Ride Like No Other

The Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster is a ride like no other. Flying down the mountain with the wind in your face and your hair flying behind you is a thrill rarely experienced on other rides. One of the cool things you’ll notice right away about this Gatlinburg roller coaster is that it’s silent. There are no motor or engine sounds to interfere with the pristine quietness of the woods as you zoom through them. You might, however, find yourself interrupting the quiet by letting out a shriek of excitement on the way down!

This Ride Gets TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence

The Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster is so much fun that it’s earned a Certificate of Excellence from the travel site TripAdvisor. This certificate is given only to those   attractions, accommodations, and restaurants that consistently get great reviews from travelers. In fact, traveler Mindy M. has this to say about it, “By far the best roller coaster I have ever been on. The turns are smooth and fast. I don’t think I’ve laughed that hard in a long time. Definitely a must do!” Thanks for the recommendation, Mindy!

Life has its Ups…

Getting to the top of the mountain coaster is a breeze. The special lift system carries you 780 feet in the air–no stairs to climb, thank goodness! Once you’re there, pause for a minute and take in the view of downtown Gatlinburg and the surrounding Smoky Mountains. You can see for miles up here!

…and its Downs!

Once you’re finished admiring the view–especially beautiful this time of year–hop in the car, fasten your safety belt and familiarize yourself with the brake handle. You can use it on the way down to control your speed, but why would you? This ride is the most fun when you’re flying full speed down the mountain without brakes, twisting and turning with the curves as you fly through the woods. The force of gravity drops you a total of 2,500 feet, and you may go as fast as 31 mph. But you can take it as fast or as slowly as you’d like. You’re in the driver’s seat!

Fun for Everyone!

Everyone in the family will enjoy riding the Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster. It’s suitable for kids from age 3 up, as long as they’re 38” tall and ride with an adult. And it’s open every day of the week, regardless of weather. Rain, snow, or shine, this Gatlinburg roller coaster is open 10:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. Monday – Thursday and on Sunday; on Friday and Saturday it’s open until 11:00 p.m.

So…if you haven’t ridden the Gatlinburg Mountain Coaster yet, what are you waiting for? It’s one of the most exciting things to do in Gatlinburg, so be sure you make time for it when you come visit this fall. We’ll be waiting to see you!
